Clare and I recently returned from Alice's yoga retreat in Tuscany and what a fabulous experience it was. Alice is a skilled, thoughtful and gentle teacher which I was particularly grateful for as a yoga first timer! We moved between a number of settings all of which were beautiful, enjoying the stunning Tuscany hills as a backdrop. The sessions were well planned, provided an appropriate physical challenge and were great fun.
Alice is an inspiring teacher and copes brilliantly with a class of mixed abilities. We couldn't recommend her highly enough.
Yoga with Alice is completely different from any other yoga classes I have tried so far. She approaches each class like a whole new experience for the body, mind and heart, covering every angle with so much knowledge preparation and balance you come away feeling elated and wanting to know more. Each class is completely unique and I always come away having learned something new and having discovered new secrets about my body. It’s not often that you meet someone so inspiring, with such positive attitude and always so patient with new and experienced students alike. I come away smiling and feeling great and can’t wait to go back to the next class. Alice has a clear passion for yoga which shines through and which she manages to channel into the sessions. We both look forward to our weekly sessions.
I joined Alice’s class with my wife as we both needed to improve our flexibility, balance and core strength. Whilst we consider ourselves relatively fit, as compared to most of our middle aged contemporaries, we did find the poses quite challenging to begin with. Given it has been just a short time, under Alice’s careful guidance and encouragement we both believe that we are beginning to benefit and show improvement.

Alice has a clear passion for yoga which shines through and which she manages to channel into the sessions. In November 2018 I went on my first ever Alice May Yoga retreat, with Alice and Antonella as teachers. I’ve been doing yoga now for nearly 2 years I think, and hadn’t appreciated what a hold it would take on me. When the opportunity to go on a yoga retreat came along I was really unsure of what to expect and whether I would enjoy it. But, it was amazing! The weekend was full of opportunity to relax and restore in a stunning location with some fabulous people. I experienced yoga that I had not done before, for example blindfolded yoga. I didn’t really mind getting up at silly o’clock, as I am used to doing so at home with a young family anyway, but taking part in morning yoga practises made the early morning start worthwhile and an excellent way to start the day. We were able to enjoy a wine-tasting experience on the Saturday evening which was given by Antonella and was huge fun, and I have come away from the weekend with some new friends and an even greater love of yoga. I can’t wait for the next one! Thank you Alice and Antonella for making the whole weekend so special.
Earlier this year I was fundraising for a charity called Hope for Children and Alice kindly agreed to conduct two charity yoga classes (one in Reading and one in London).
Both classes were excellent - Alice's peaceful and gentle style meant that the class was accessible to everyone, both beginners and advanced. Everybody left the classes feeling energised and uplifted, including myself! I have been to many different yoga classes over the years and I have enjoyed Alice's classes the most by far. Thank you so much Alice for a wonderful experience and for helping me to raise approximately £500 for a very worthwhile cause!
Alice, a big thank you again for such a wonderful introduction to yoga. It’s something I’ve never tried before and the weekly lessons have been a joy to do (greatly helping with years of aches and pains!) It has also been a joy to be around such a lovely positive person as yourself.
I met Alice on a bus in Nepal. The first thing I noticed about her was this amazing sense of calm that seemed to surround her (even as she embarked upon a somewhat difficult conversation concerning bus seats with a fiesty Nepalese bus driver).

This calmness really radiates in her yoga teaching. She tailors her lessons to the specific needs of individual students and is always gently encouraging them to reach new places. I had the privilege of trekking with Alice in the Himalayas, an experience neither of us will forget. Despite this immense physical challenge, no one could stop her from doing her yoga .. even on top of mountains. Alice really gave me a deep understanding of yoga during our time together in Nepal and never ceases to inspire me to do more.
I didn't really think yoga was for me, however Alice's methods of teaching changed my mind. I had a wonderful weekend or relaxation, reflection and yoga with close friends. Alice offered something for everyone and I would highly recommend a weekend retreat with her. I felt truly refreshed after the experience so thank you Alice.

This calmness really radiates in her yoga teaching.
